I wrote these notes as a compact introduction to emcee — and so I don’t fail candidacy — especially for the part that tends to feel murky at first: what the sampler is actually producing, and how autocorrelation time changes the way we interpret the chain. I am posting them here in case they are useful as a quick reference for anyone learning the package or checking convergence.
